Contemporary Iranian architecture owes its development to the creative and innovative efforts of architects who have given the country’s architecture a new identity by blending traditional and modern art. Among these influential figures are Houshang Seyhoun, Kamran Diba, Nader Ardalan, and Faramarz Sharifi, each of whom has played a significant role in shaping modern Iranian architecture through the creation of enduring works such as the Avicenna Mausoleum, Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, Jundi-Shapur University, and the Shahyad (Azadi) Complex. These prominent architects, with their deep understanding of Iranian culture and identity, and in step with global advancements, have managed to create works that preserve the authenticity of Iranian architecture while also responding to the needs of modern society.
